What's YOUR plan for 2012?

It's almost the end of the year. No, really, we're almost there!! I've got a couple of New Year's Resolutions every business should have.

1. Advertise in Biker Kulture Magazine
2. Advertise in Biker Kulture Magazine

Okay, not what you expected huh...well...how about this...

1. Grow my business

2. Ask every biker bar/motorcycle related business in town if they carry Biker Kulture yet (after next week of course)

3. If they say no, tell them, well, heck, ya gotta! ; )

4. Keep your eye on the prize...which is what? SUCCESS!

5. Don't be afraid to take a step toward your future. If you aren't advertising somewhere, you should be...if you're not advertising here...refer back to #1 and #2 in my first paragraph and consider SERIOUSLY thinking about #6.

6. If your sales flatlined, went down, or if you just want to expand...you should try something new! The more you stay the same, the more the world will pass you by.

7. Ask yourself...what am I doing wrong and what I am doing right? Adjust your direction so you can progress!

8. Look for new ways to make money for your business. Chances are, you are missing opportunities. Everyone does it.

9. Think outside the box. Just because you've always done something one way does not mean it's the only way to do it! Make your move!

10. Ask me how we can help you grow your business through Biker Kulture or Red Phoenix Marketing (RPM) Graphic Design. A good way to boost your business is to regroup and go at it with a plan!

GREAT news for our advertisers!

YOU HAVE A NEW MAGAZINE IN HOUSTON THAT'S CAUSING QUITE A STIR!

Are you curious about the reach and relevance of a new magazine? Are you trying to decide whether to advertise?

Just listen to these stats on our web presence alone BEFORE the magazine hits!

Here's an update on our website stats if you want to know what kind of reach we're gonna have when it comes to advertiser interests.

Remember when I said what the average time spent on a website is? It's 56 seconds.

The last ime I posted on Facebook about two weeks ago, ours was over 3 minutes. Now, we're at 5 minutes and 11 seconds! People are spending one HECK of a long time looking through our website! If you're there, they are more likely to see your company info when we add you as an advertiser!

50% of our website visitors are coming from Facebook!

Almost 2/3 of our site visitors are return visitors! That means something is VERY interesting about our magazine and people are HUNGRY for MORE!

Between 26-50 people are visit the site up to 22 times! WOW! Somebody will definitely see you on our site!

Only 10% of our visitors are looking at the site through their mobile phone, BUT we still provide a crisp, clean, easily navigable version of our site for mobile phones! Means mobile apps are GREAT, but the website is VERY important! If you can't navigate it, it's not valuable! Most visitors that are interested in the culture of the Houston motorcycle industry, are coming from the PC, not mobile phone. If people get tired of trying to read it, if it's too cluttered, if it's not clearly laid out, you will lose your readers.

That's just our website! ------->>>>>>Want to hear about our Facebook stats?

In one single month (only our second since the inception of the magazine on Facebook) our LIKES (fans) have gone up 215%!! People are jumping on our bandwagon and FAST!

Our monthly active users have gone up 716%!! HOLY COW!  People are coming back over and over to see what we have going on!

The feedback on the things that we post has gone up 313%! THAT IS amazing! They are ENGAGING, which is IMPORTANT if you want to catch the interest of the people!

The majority of our fans are in Houston and Katy. Hmm...could mean that if you are in Houston or Katy and you aren't advertising, they might be missing you? Could also mean if you are in other satellite cities...you've got some work to do to grow your market there?! Means BK will be pounding the pavement at these other cities to get more fans! Point is, though...is we are measuring these results and using them.

What does all of this mean to the rider?

Well, it means you are paying attention to our magazine and that's GREAT news!

What does that mean to the business owner/advertisers?

It means riders want to know what we are posting...eventually what they will find IN the magazine itself!

WILL THEY FIND YOU?

So, why wait?! Advertise now!

Steel Ponies Ride into the Eiteljorg

INDIANAPOLIS - Motorcycles remain symbols of adventure, freedom, individualism and even danger-ideas often connected to concepts of the American West. On March 10, 2012, Steel Ponies opens at the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, allowing guests to explore the finest examples of motorcycles-from vintage historical examples and famous Hollywood bikes to tricked-out custom jobs, and how they relate to both the real and imagined American West and Native America. The exhibit features the motorcycle Evel Knievel used in many of his famous jumps; the "Captain America" bike, used in the counterculture classic film, "Easy Rider;" and more than 20 other must-see motorcycles, including:

Custom Orange County Chopper
Built in 2009 and featured on an episode of the Discovery Channel's American Chopper, this was Orange County Chopper's first Native American-inspired bike. The themed motorcycle, built for the Chippewa Nation, sports dream catchers for wheels and a tank and fenders made to look like birch bark.

"Because of its Native American styling and tribute to the Chippewa people of Saginaw, Mich., this particular motorcycle seemed a perfect fit for Steel Ponies," said White Wolf James, Eiteljorg assistant curator and curator of Steel Ponies.

Cowboy Customs chopper Art Attack
The imagery of the West has inspired artists in many ways. In 2006, it inspired master builder Russ Hess to come out of retirement after 21 years and create Art Attack. The unique Western styling of this virtual saddle on wheels is achieved with 47 pieces of engraved silver overlay and a total of 115 gold flowers and rubies.

1915 Harley on "Cannonball Run"
Beginning in the early 1900s, many adventurous souls rode across the continent visiting sites in the American West. In 1915, Effie Hotchkiss became the first woman to make such a ride from New York to California, on a Harley- Davidson, with her mother, Ava, riding in the sidecar. Ninety-five years later, author and journalist Cristine Sommer-Simmons made the cross-county journey, riding a 1915 Harley nicknamed "Effie" in honor of Hotchkiss. Steel Ponies will feature Sommer-Simmons' bike and will highlight the contributions of women to the history of motorcycling. Sommer-Simmons will be at the museum July 21 to talk about her experience and to sign her new book.

Dig deeper
Each month the Eiteljorg will highlight different aspects of biking from culture to building. Highlights of the programming include first-person gallery interpreters that allow guests to explore the little-known history of women and motorcycles. Guests will also meet and hear from custom bike builders like Danny Sanchez (Apache) from Cut Throat Customs, who built a bike for the exhibition. Additionally, families can climb aboard a Harley with a sidecar and take a picture. Check www.ctcfab.com to find out more about Daniel Sanchez of Cut Throat Customs.

The Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art seeks to inspire an appreciation and understanding of the art, history and cultures of the American West and the indigenous peoples of North America. The museum, which opened in 1989, is located in Downtown Indianapolis' White River State Park. For general information about the museum and to learn more about exhibits and events, call (317) 636-WEST (9378) or visit www.eiteljorg.org.
